Life Church Starkville MS John and Laura Daniels

John, Laura, Hannah and Evelyn Daniels

After 13 years of ministry, God began to give Laura and I a burden for Starkville, home to Mississippi State University, the state’s largest university with over 20,000 students and 4,000 full-time employees.  We soon found out that only 38% of the more than 47,600 residents in the county attend an Evangelical church regularly.    We moved to Starkville in March 2009 with the goal of starting a church in Starkville that is real, relevant and relational.  That dream became a reality in September 2009.  Come check out Life Church!

Having grown up in a college town as the son of two university faculty, I grew to love the college scene.  After completing my Bachelors in Education and Masters of Divinity, I served ten years as Outreach Pastor at Cathedral of the Cross in Birmingham.  I had the privilege of leading 175 of the greatest volunteers in ten outreach ministries that touched thousands outside the church.  My passion for the nations has led me to take thirteen mission trips to nine countries.

Laura, a native of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, came to Christ as a college student.  She finished her bachelors in business at Samford University.  After 12 years working in the business field, she resigned her job as Corporate Project Manager at Southtrust Bank in 2003 to take on a new project – raising our first born Hannah Rebecca.  In 2005 Evelyn Moriah “Evie” was born.  Laura also has a passion for missions and has traveled to many countries.  She is known for her love for people.  She also has a great eye for photography.

Laura and I would love to meet you!

Church Beliefs:

• God loves every person and is committed to revealing Himself to us as the One True God in three persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

• Jesus is God’s only Son, both human and divine, sent to bring us close to God through His sinless life, sacrificial death and physical resurrection from the dead.

• Though originally good, man willingly fell to sin, ushering evil and death into the world. Every person can have restored fellowship with God through 'Salvation' (trusting Christ, through faith and repentance, to be our personal Savior and Lord).

• The Bible is God’s flawless book that teaches how to live.

• Every person has a gift, talent, or ability that needs to be used for God.

• The real evidence of God’s presence in our lives is life change.

• We practice two ordinances (1) Water Baptism after receiving Christ's gift of salvation, and (2) The Lord's Supper as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death.

• God's Spirit baptizes and empowers His people to share and serve.
